Meditate and Lose Weight

Each day that passes, the economy gets more turbulent. We are facing some really tough economic times right now… and that has lead to a lot of emotional eating!
A lot of us have an unhealthy relationship with food which is commonly referred to as emotional eating. We eat food when we are happy, to celebrate, when we are sad, to cope, when we are angry, and when we are anxious.
Nowadays, you can’t turn on the television and watch for 10 minutes without seeing commercials about food. Fast food chains are fully aware of emotional eating and it’s no wonder that there are more commercials for these restaurants than ever before. On top of that, the economy is terrible and these places have dollar menus! So, of course, we are going to end up at their drive thru ordering and supersizing!
A very good way to combat this emotional eating is by putting your thoughts on check.
The way you do this is through meditation. Meditating regularly allows you to become more in tune with your thoughts which in turn makes you more in tune with your emotions. After all, it is your thoughts that control your emotions. A lot of times we get in a bad mood during the day and don’t even know what brought it on. Some of us realize what it was that triggered it days later and some don’t ever even find out.
Meditating allows you to focus your attention on yourself. By doing this, it enables you to become more knowing of yourself, of your surroundings, and more compassionate with those around you. There are many, many benefits that come from meditating and all it takes is just 10 minutes a day.
